Part I
The Cost of Operating Drag
Why the business feels expensive to run, why headcount is not the answer, and why AI experiments stall.
The book behind the practice
How to build a company so lean your competitors think you are cheating.
A field manual for founders, CEOs and senior operators who can feel the operating drag that no amount of additional headcount seems to fix.
Central thesis
The workflow is the structure now. You do not start with roles and fill them. You start with workflows and decide which can run on AI, which need a human-in-the-loop, and which still belong to a human end-to-end.
The org chart becomes an output of workflow design, not the input.

Luke Girgis is an Australian operator, investor and founder based in Sydney. He founded and ran The Brag Media, publisher of Rolling Stone and Variety in Australia, and sold it to a public company in 2024.
After The Brag Media, he ran Providoor through a two-year turnaround, taking it from a $400,000-a-month loss to breakeven. He now operates and advises across media, talent management, childcare, food, and early-stage technology investments.
Operationalise.ai is where he and his team help executives rebuild the operating model of their business around AI workflows.
